I set up Clitheroe Therapies in 2008 as a qualified and registered (RCCP) Hearing Therapist and Specialist clinician in tinnitus management with over 20 years experience of helping people to overcome the problems that tinnitus causes, leaving the NHS in 2010 to improve access to tinnitus management that unfortunately, as a practitioner in the NHS I was no longer able to provide because of limitations imposed upon the way clinics were run in the hospital Trust that employed me
People now come to see me from all over Lancashire and the northwest to attend my highly specialist clinics at the Clitheroe Therapies Clinic
Working with me one to one, you will find your way through this often highly distressing condition: all the work is evidence based and uses clinical outcome measures
Some people benefit from using white noise generators; these may be purchased by clients as part of their tinnitus management course of treatment
For those of you that require hearing aids (hearing aids are the first step for a hearing loss and tinnitus), my colleague Kate Townsend Poole can provide them privately OR I will refer you via your GP to your local Audiology Department
If, in addition to troublesome tinnitus, you have anxiety or other problems that may include a history (recent or longer term) of depression or any of the many aspects of anxiety, this will be impacting upon tinnitus and being a qualified psychotherapist I can help you deal with these issues alongside dealing with the tinnitus

With over 20 years as a specialist practitioner in the management of tinnitus, 17 years as Hearing Therapy Clinical Lead (NHS), I lecture and have presented all over the UK; since starting the Clitheroe Therapies Clinic, I now provide specialist training to Audiologists (NHS and private sector) in the management of tinnitus
Tinnitus E-Programme
As well as providing structured evidence based therapy for the management of tinnitus at the Clitheroe Therapies Clinic, I also provide free of charge an on-line basic tinnitus management course via internet (launched in June 2009) called the Tinnitus E-Programme that is accessed worldwide by individuals who otherwise have no local access to help
Tinnitus Open Days
There are Tinnitus Open Days at the Clitheroe Therapies Clinic run throughout the year where you can call in to talk to me about your tinnitus and pick up Information Leaflets about tinnitus, many of which have been provided by the BTA (British Tinnitus Association)

When you joined our BNI chapter recently, promoting your newly formed business “Clitheroe Therapies” specialising in Tinnitus Management and Specialist Listening Techniques – you really can’t imagine how that was literally “music to my ears.”
My husband Niall was the singer in a rock band when I met him 15 years ago and he has been playing and listening to loud rock music for 25 years – and, as we all know, as we get older the actions of our youth will catch up with us and inevitably - payback is painful.
