It
looks as though I have found somewhere! Central Clitheroe opposite the
entrance to Clitheroe Castle. These premises are VERY SPECIAL! I will
keep you all advised about when we open! It's likely to be April - June time and now, Clitheroe Therapies has EVEN MORE to offer!!!
Not
only will there be direct individual access to a registered counselling
and therapy service (Humanistic and Cognitive Therapy), hypnotherapy,
altered state therapy, group relaxation sessions and Shamanic healing; Wendy Loudon is joining me
in this new venture. Wendy is a Reiki Master and qualified Crystal Healing Therapist, and together, we will be delivering powerful joint group therapy sessions and also Wendy's individual attention and very
powerful healings. I have been lucky enough to experience these myself
and Wendy is an incredibly gifted healer.
The Tinnitus Clinic will be developed and available 5 days a week, plus evenings and weekends when it is needed.This includes access to a fully qualified Audiologist for hearing tests and hearing aid assessment when required.
The
most important aspect of our work is enabling and promoting health and
well being. We will have a lovely room where you can just come along,
browse through interesting books and magazines, enjoy the energies in
the environment, perhaps meet like minded others, have a fruit or
green/chamomile tea and have a quiet chat without any obligation.
Our
second floor will be for all our therapies. The rooms are beautiful
with fabulous views of Clitheroe Castle through the windows! But we doubt you will even notice them once you are feeling as relaxed as you are going to be by coming along to see us!
We hope to open our doors May/June 2010 and Wendy and I look forward to meeting you!

Clitheroe Therapies is seeking a new home. Debbie
Featherstone is currently looking for suitable accommodation in the Clitheroe area
to set up a non-hospital based practice full time. Clitheroe is a lovely market
town in the Ribble Valley, Lancashire and lays claim to being the most central
town geographically in Britain due to its proximity to Dunsop Bridge - according
to Wikipedia, as well as its local inhabitants! There is easy and convenient access by rail and by car.
Debbie has worked as the Hearing Therapy Services Clinical
Lead with East Lancashire Hospitals NHS Trust since 2001, and for 17
years altogether as an NHS Hearing Therapist. She has decided to leave the NHS in order to pursue her main interests and bring services to a wider range of people and their
needs by having her practice based in the centre of Clitheroe.
Debbie’s practice from The Beardwood Hospital in Blackburn
will also continue, though this service is most often used by solicitors and
insurance companies for medico-legal assessments and therapy.
One reason for looking for her own premises is in order to
make access to therapy more affordable, and another is that it opens up
opportunities to additional therapies including hypnotherapy and Shamanic
healing.
Clitheroe Therapies is able to offer a
variety of psychological therapies including Humanistic and Cognitive Therapy that
help to enable people deal with life’s difficulties, including anxiety, stress,
depression etc.
It is also the home of the now widely accessed Tinnitus
E-Programme, and Debbie will continue to help people who have distressing
tinnitus through her work. The on-line Tinnitus E-Programme will
remain free to access via the internet, but soon, anyone able to travel to
Clitheroe, will be able to choose to work with Debbie one-to-one. This has not been possible before due to NHS restrictions placed on people living outside the catchment area of her NHS service.
If the right kind of premises
can be found, Debbie will also be able to run group workshops similar to those
she developed and brought to East Lancashire in 2001 known as the TMGC (Tinnitus
Management Group Course) upon which the E-Programme is based.
So! Big changes ahead for Debbie and for Clitheroe
Therapies! Once the new premises have been found, details will be made
available on this website.
